No new snow to report. And light rain (sleet higher up). Not the best start to a report that, is it?
Rewind a bit to yesterday though and we enjoyed some wonderfully clear skies and weather conditions.
Anyway, it is a rather warm morning in Niseko. Earlier on when I first got up, +1C and now +2C in the village and a high of around +4C possible. As of 7:30am, Niseko Village was reporting a temperature of -7C on it's upper slopes.
It's also windy and the winds are affecting lifts this morning. The top lift at Annupuri is closed early on and at Niseko Village the Niseko Gondola, Country Road and top Wonderland lifts are waiting on conditions. At the time of writing the lifts operating at Niseko Grand Hirafu are the Ace Family, Ace Number 1, Holiday Number 1 pair and King Number 2 lifts. Hopefully the Ace Number 2 Center Four will soon be moving. The gondola and other lifts are not open (yet) due to the windy conditions on mountain.
Probably best to check the resorts most recent lift information before heading out, though I think today some people may well decide to do other things and wait for the coming fresh snow.
Tomorrow I should hopefully have colder temperatures and some fresh snowfall to report, but there is a good chance that the strong winds will still be with us.
