A very wet and gloomy end to the working week in contrast to the stunning blue skies this time last week. It has been a very wet week overall here in Niseko and the heavy rain looks likely to continue throughout the weekend and into the middle of next week. Temperatures haven't dipped as low as perhaps we would have liked with current daytime figures in the high single digits. The top lifts might get a nice dusting over the weekend with the temperatures at those altitudes forecast to dip below freezing before rising again after the weekend.

The rain and wind have stripped most of the autumn foliage away and the landscape is looking more bleak and barren at the moment - something a nice coating of white will fix up nicely. Bring it on!

Niseko hopes to have ski lifts open from November 23rd this season and the countdown to opening is just 3 weeks away!

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Kutchan/Niseko. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
