Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 24cm

Posted on Friday 29th November 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Good morning from Niseko.

That modestly modest snowfall yesterday morning at the time of my report didn't last long. Before too long, lower slopes were looking bare once again. Doh!

I am happy to report another white covering this morning and it's a little bit more substantial than yesterday. I can this morning record (just slightly over) 3cm of snowfall at base.

The ski areas wanted to be opening tomorrow. Obviously, obviously there isn't enough snow to be able to do that at the moment. So we are now officially into that 'ski areas will open as soon as there is enough snow' zone.

We do have snow forecast across the next few days, so let's hoping for a decent amount.

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Kutchan/Niseko. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
