Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido
New snowfall at base 0cm

Rain and wind this morning. It's not a pleasant morning.
(I can't see any sign of fresh snow on webcams).
As of 8:30am, the top lift at Hirafu is 'on hold' and all three lifts at Annupuri are also showing 'on hold'. The ski area seems to be saying it will open if conditions improve.
On days like this, as we near the end of the season and there's not many people around, I sometimes wonder if ski areas would prefer to just close up the season rather than battle on until the end. It takes a certain kind of dedication to be eager to be out in these late days, especially when the weather isn't nice. All power to those who do, though!
