Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 877cm

Posted on Tuesday 19th March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

We have a very Monday morning surprise with some fairly heavy snowfall overnight and 14cm of snow on the ground. Wonderful!

What's more, as I write this, it is still snowing - and actually quite heavily in some places... less so in others.

We are not expecting any/much looking forward and forecasts say there might be sunshine today; and possibly quite soon.

It's not as windy this morning, so I expect ski areas to be able to open as planned this morning.
