Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 778cm

Posted on Saturday 17th February 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

Another few cm of snowfall this morning and some sunny skies to start the weekend. It's more shades of light blue than deep blue early on.

Sun is expected across the weekend with some warmer temperatures during the day, particularly tomorrow and Monday.

It will be getting colder once again from Tuesday, and hopefully we'll get back to enjoying some fresh snow then too.

Anyway, it's time for some toast. I hope you have a fine Saturday wherever you are. It should be fun!

We would like to apologize for using inappropriate words such as "Osaka's Anchan Group" and "Yakara" in Avalanche Information No. 67 on February 14th. These expressions were used to refer to specific people who did not follow the rules of the time, and were not used to refer to everyone in Kansai, such as Osaka and Amagasaki. We apologize for causing a big misunderstanding and for making the people of Osaka feel uncomfortable. However, the Niseko Rules are applied fairly to everyone visiting Niseko, regardless of race or nationality. This Avalanche bulletin will be suspended from tomorrow to discuss these issues.
