Independent snow and weather reporting from the Niseko region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 140cm

Posted on Friday 17th December 2021 This is an archived report. The latest Niseko Now report can be found here

It's snowing this morning. And quite nicely as I write this. There's not much fresh on the ground for the moment (with ski areas reporting around 5cm), but we should now be heading into a period of particular excite. Steady snowfall is on the forecast through into next week, heavy at times. Tomorrow should be getting really cold.

I think that's it for this morning. So I'll see you tomorrow.

-----

Oh yes, night skiing is planned to start from tomorrow, but it will depend on the snow and might be delayed.

And on the subject of night skiing I must apologise as it seems that one piece of information has slipped through my radar --- HANAZONO do plan to do night skiing this season! I'll write more about that in my report tomorrow.
