Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 390cm
Posted on Friday 3rd January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.
Greetings from Naeba.
It is a busy morning here, as you would expect at New Year.
4cm of snow to report since yesterday. It is a cloudy morning but visibility is pretty good on lower slopes. No much wind.
It's keeping fairly cold, if not mid-winter very cold.
Operations remain as they have been. It's unclear when that top lift might be able to (re)-open.
Looking ahead a bit, we may get clearer skies tomorrow. Chance of some of that tomorrow, too, according to some forecasts.
The next potentially heavy snow will probably be with us around Tuesday/Wednesday.
