Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 9cm
Snowfall at base this season 177cm

Posted on Tuesday 3rd January 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Naeba everybody.

Good news everybody! The snow we had predicted for yesterday has come through and it is still coming hard.

Conditions have been massively improved from yesterday with all the grassy patches being fully covered.

The resort is finally at a point where it is possible to ski and or ride pretty much anywhere rather than just in the center of the runs. I would still definitely advise caution though as it will be possible to find rocks/grass underneath snow in some places.

At the moment the weather forecast is predicting snow all the way through until midday Friday. As long as this comes through we should have a pretty decent base of snow by then!
