Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 43cm
Snowfall at base this season 206cm

Posted on Sunday 30th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Naeba and many apologies for the missing report yesterday.

We have just added a quick report to keep track of the fresh snowfall for yesterday (38cm).

And this morning there's another 43cm to add to that. It has been snowing full on basically. Loads of snow.

There's some wind too so the Dragondola and Tashiro area of Kagura are closed again this morning.

Wind affected lift operations aside, most of Naeba is now open - closed areas are the summit area and a few mid mountain. See image below for the details as of this morning.

More snow is due today but perhaps something of an easing tomorrow and maybe even some sun.

We are ending the year in real style!

Official snow depth:

- 120cm

Planned night-time operations:

- Daily until Sunday 24th March 2019

- 4:00pm until 8:30pm

- Courses open: Number 4 and 5
