Well I can't say I was expecting this, misled by those naughty forecasts, but in this case it's a good thing.


Let's 40cm new snowfall!


Yep, Kagura boasting 40cm new up there.


Here in Naeba it's more like 20cm but still a decent new cover to enjoy.


There's a bit of wind up there and early on the upper slope at Naeba are not open because of those winds but the No2 Gondola and Dragondola look set to be moving. Looks like it's just the top lift at the time of writing.


Interestingly, Kagura seems to be open as normal.


Conditions still likely to clear gradually and finer weather along with mild conditions towards the end of the week.

Big news for all you 'top lift at Kagura' fans. They usually open it from March but this season the resort has announced that it is going to be open much earlier than usual --- Friday 1st February in fact. That's this coming Friday! Yikes. Good news. It's official name is Kagura Number 5 Romance lift. Let's Romance!
