Posted on Sunday 24th February 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.

Yet another 30cm of snow this morning, but also strong winds. Only the Mitsumata bit of Kagura is open I'm afraid, so greatly limiting up there for the Sunday folk making the trip.

The only compensation being that there should be tons of fresh and particularly spectacular snow up there.

(Ignore the official snow depth numbers and lack of increases!)

20-30cm here in Naeba and the Gondolas and top lifts are on hold here too.

So, all limited today. Things should calm down a bit tomorrow and then clearer conditions due Tuesday.

Apparently I am hearing that the Kanetsu Expressway is closed from Tsukiyono in Gunma to Shiozawa Ishiuchi in Niigata and so if you are on the way up and reading this and planning on coming through to Yuzawa, know that you'll be getting off at Tsukiyono.
