Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata
New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 1005cm
Posted on Saturday 22nd February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Naeba.
The snowstorm calmed down just a bit, bringing 3cm of fresh snow overnight.
The morning started pleasantly with no snowfall, good visibility, and promising sunshine, but conditions quickly changed, and we're back to snowfall.
The wind isn’t strong, but it’s expected to pick up slightly throughout the day and it supposed to continue snowing. It’s still cold, so the snow quality remains excellent.
Despite it being the weekend (and the start of a long weekend at that), the crowd is moderate so far, and there are no lift lines.
Gondola 1 and the top lift remain closed, as well as the Kagura top lift.
It should be a great day on the slopes—including the black runs.
