Independent snow and weather reporting from the Naeba region of Niigata

New snowfall at base 16cm
Snowfall at base this season 639cm

Posted on Friday 1st February 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Naeba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Naeba.

Bit of disruption this morning. Firstly the Tashiro Area of Kagura is closed, so the Dragondola is also.

As well as that poor weather conditions are preventing the Number 2 Gondola from moving so the upper area of the mountain is closed.

Visibility is limited in places that are open due to the snow that is falling still.

16cm of snow to report this morning and cold conditions. It's coming down nicely too now.

Should be good for the weekend though we are expecting something of a mild weekend (perhaps a bit too much on Sunday in particular).
