Last report I said it was a snowy Madarao Kogen.

Well, it's a much snowier Madarao this morning, the resort posting a photo of outside the base center and reporting 70cm of snow, over half of that since yesterday afternoon.

Oh yes, things are progressing well. This will form a good base which hopefully will stick around and be built on gradually in the run up to opening a week on Friday.

Forecast for the coming week is less snowy. Maybe sunny even. The next cold and snowy front is due next weekend.

Madarao Kogen plans to open on Friday 19th December

All snowfall data presented on this page is the snowfall measured and observed at base/town level by our reporter based in Madarao. The 'new snowfall' number represents the amount of snow measured since the previous report. All opinions are those of the individual reporters. Information regarding ski area operations is manually checked every morning and is believed to be correct at the time of the report.
