Well, there is it folks, that was it.
The lifts at Madarao Kogen have now stopped for the season.
There's still a lot of snow out there and good cover which is a shame but there's no going back now... it'll be December before the resort opens again officially for skiing and snowboarding.
It has been a decent season I think. Not as consistent heavy snowfall as last season, but then again that one was probably not the norm. Still, lots of snow and some fine conditions to be had. Spring seemed to arrive sooner than we hoped, as it did in many other regions of Japan as well.
Madarao is of course a very pleasant place to visit outside of the snow season. Nice and relatively cool up here in summer when everyone else is sweating it out lower down in the valleys and of course some spectacular scenery on clear days.
Thank you for reading the reports. Madarao Now will be back later on in the year when we start looking forward to the 2013/2014 season.
Have a fun summer!
