New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 160cm

Posted on Friday 9th January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Hello from Hakuba.

We are being blessed with a beautiful morning. Clear blue skies, sunshine... and it's a very cold one.

Hakuba Cortina is reporting 25cm of fresh snowfall up top since yesterday. There's smaller snowfall numbers at other ski areas, but a fresh layer out there to enjoy.

We have a 3-day long weekend coming up as Monday is Coming of Age day. Usually it's one of the busiest of the season and with clear skies expected tomorrow morning, it is probably a good idea to aim for early lifts tomorrow.

Due to be milder, too.

It is great to see a quick return to cold and good snowfall due to be with us on Sunday.
