We have had a bit of rain this morning in Hakuba, both in village and up on the mountain apparently. It's a bit of a mixed bag already today actually as now the rain has eased off, the sun is out and there's quite a lot of blue sky up there behind the clouds that remain. Just as long as it doesn't rain! So we are hoping that won't come back but some local forecasts have us down for possibly rain later on today still.
Today is going to be another warm one as this run of mild days continues in early March. We'll see temperatures rise up to double digits once again this afternoon. Snow conditions are generally as you would expect.
Seems there might be a chance of snow at higher elevations tonight and into tomorrow, though wouldn't expect much to report in the morning. It's looking like the warmth will persist in the daytime tomorrow. Not windy though so at least everywhere should be open and if the sun is out there will be great scenery on show.
Hopefully we'll be able to enjoy a nice spring-like weekend.
Last few days of the season for the small Hakuba Minekata resort if you are interested in checking that place out - open until Sunday.
