Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 613cm
Posted on Monday 7th March 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Yesterday felt like a winters day once again. There was fresh snow and it continued snowing. By mid afternoon Hakuba 47 were reporting 20cm of snowfall.
There is more snow to report this morning too. 10+cm of it around base since yesterday and more as you go higher.
Nice weather this morning too. The sun is out, there's some blue sky and a bunch of white cloud around too. Atmospheric, I'd say. Having said that it seems wind is hanging around and messing with a few top lifts at the start of the day at Happo-one, 47 and Tsugaike.
No snow on the forecasts now this week, or if so only very light, with things on the way to start warming up, particularly as we get to the weekend. Wind shouldn't be a problem either, so a nice time to be out.

Hakuba Cortina back to '12 hours' for their snowfall number this morning. Sorry if that's confusing, there's nowt I can do about it. I'll just be carefully to check whether it's 12 or 24 for each report.
