Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 182cm
Posted on Friday 6th March 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Hakuba.
I can add a bit more snow since yesterday morning and there are varying numbers being reported by the ski resorts.
The biggest number this morning being reported is by the folks over at Tsugaike Kogen who say 25cm. Sounds good, that.
Some very strong gusty windy conditions affected quite a few lifts during the day yesterday but operations seem more normal this morning.
With access to the mountains this morning and the fresh snow conditions it should be good.
It is a cold morning.
There is a lot of cloud around still - and seemingly limited visibility in some upper areas - but some blue sky too and a good chance that things will clear up.
After the cold morning today it does look like we can expect a return to milder conditions tomorrow with a day or two of real warmth mid week. Let's deal with that later. For now, there's fresh snow to enjoy!
