Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 327cm

Good morning from Hakuba.

Much better this morning!

It was good to see the rain turn into snow yesterday during the day on the mountain, and Hakuba 47 were reporting 5cm of snow by mid-afternoon.

It is definitely feeling colder and mostly cloudy (with a bit of light snow falling earlier on with a dusting on the ground). Some resorts are reporting a bit of fresh snow this morning - up to 2-3cm (Happo/47) and 5cm (Cortina).

We're expecting sunshine during the day today and perhaps more tomorrow.

Of course we all want to hear when the next decent snowfall is due. Looks towards Thursday and over the weekend for that.
