Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 5cm
Snowfall at base this season 246cm

Posted on Thursday 4th January 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

I was out on 47/Goryu yesterday where it was snowing and pretty windy at times. Nothing getting wrapped up well can't solve, and the snow was good. Snow was falling but getting blown around by the wind.

This morning light snow falling down to village level and I have just 3cm to report here.

And here is what the resorts themselves are reporting:

Hakuba Goryu: 5cm

Hakuba Happo-one: 3cm

Hakuba 47: 0cm (?)

Hakuba Cortina: 15-20cm

Cortina wins!

It is a cold morning so the conditions should be great first up

More snow during the day today; some more Saturday; and early next week.

Regular snowfall. I like the sound of that.

Enjoy!
