Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 563cm
Posted on Tuesday 4th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
A modest amount of snowfall so far.
It is snowing lightly now, and generally looks like limited visibility up on the slopes (though down here in the village I can see the shape of the sun through the clouds).
We're still expecting heavy snow. And, if forecasts are right, consistently heavy snow over a period of several+ days.
Scary, almost!
Let's see what Nature brings us.
It need not be noted, but with so much snow forecast, we really do need to be super careful whilst enjoying it all. There'll be no need to go looking for it... it's all going to be there in front of you on the ski areas.
