Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 221cm

Good morning from Hakuba.

Blue skies and cloud this morning.

The snow around base and lower areas has been noticeably disappearing with spring warmth taking hold yesterday.

Even so, you can still actually slide back down to base at Happo-one, 47 and Goryu. Obviously the best snow cover is higher up on the mountain.

Only the upper area of Tsugaike Kogen remains open so you'll need to ride the gondola back down to base over there.

If the forecasts are correct we might get some snow on the mountain overnight tonight (and overnight tomorrow night?). It will be a warm day today, colder tomorrow.
