Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 547cm

Posted on Wednesday 2nd May 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Hello and good morning from Hakuba.

A warm fine day yesterday with snow melting before our eyes.

The bottom course at Hakuba 47 is a casualty and is now closed. They did well to keep it open until now!

So you now need to get the Gondola back down at all four of the ski resorts that remain part open.

Things are getting rather limited now and personally I'd take my 'old gear' up and leave my most precious new stuff in storage.

The season officially ends on Sunday, so just 5 days left now.

Sad, but it has been a long one (spring feels like it has been going on forever). And I am personally looking forward to being able to lie-in and laze about for a bit. Need to re-charge in time for next season!
