Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 14cm
Snowfall at base this season 182cm

Posted on Monday 2nd January 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

There is more fresh snow this morning around the mountains, and some varying numbers too. That 50cm that Goryu is reporting looks tasty (and is something of an outlier, with other numbers more in the 20-30cm range). Still, there's a layer of fresh on them there mountains and down to base too.

Light snow still falling in places, and not in others, and we can probably expect a mostly cloudy day.

The Tree Riding Zones opened at Hakuba 47 yesterday.

All is good. Let's have more snow. (* Always want more. The need is never-ending).
