Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 339cm

Posted on Saturday 28th March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba.

I hope that we have a weekend of good spring weather. It certainly looks like it will be warm. Like, 16C or 17C warm in the village! Poka-poka!

Come early week we might start to see some rain. Maybe even some snow on Tuesday, on the mountains at least?!

Just a few days left of operation for a few ski areas in the region.

Once we are down to the last big four, I'll post more details about operations.

I still find it quite amusing how Tsugaike has '#footbath' tagged on to most of the facebook posts it makes. Gosh, one of the highlights of the off-season for me is not having to look at all that kind of nonsense every morning!
