Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 4cm
Snowfall at base this season 375cm
Posted on Tuesday 27th February 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
There's fresh snow on the ground this morning with ski areas reporting up to 15cm of fresh on the slopes. That is a nice refresh for everyone heading up onto the mountains to enjoy this morning. We should be getting some more snow during the day today.
It is quite windy out there too and snow is being blown around, giving us some limited to poor visibility. Quite cold too.
There's some sun expected tomorrow and then more snow forecast for late week so we could well start March really well.
Top lifts at Happo-one affected by the wind and the Tree Riding Zone at 47 is closed today - I hear there was some broken/fallen branches causing issues yesterday (and they also mention 'poor conditions', I'm guessing that is wind-related rather than snow-related).
