Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 12cm
Snowfall at base this season 92cm

Posted on Saturday 27th December 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Ski areas reporting another 5-15cm of snowfall since yesterday.

We have some cloud but quite a lot of blue sky this morning and it should be a very pleasant day to be out on the mountains.

I'm hoping that before too long I can report that ski areas are basically 'fully open' - and the daily grind of gathering details can ease off! I always really look forward to that day. We're not there yet, though.

Forecasts indicate next snow coming in Tuesday and perhaps we might get a few days of snowfall this time.
