Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 148cm

Posted on Monday 26th December 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

It is a cold morning and still quite windy on the mountains. (Happo-one always seems to be affected most by the wind and indeed this morning their top lifts are on hold again while other ski areas appear to be opening as planned).

Cortina is reporting the most snow this morning with up to 40cm on upper areas since yesterday. Nice.

There's more modest snowfall numbers coming in from other ski areas to the south of that most northerly ski area of the region. Numbers in the list below.

Light snow was falling earlier on this morning but that has eased off now. I can even see some blue sky peeping through some clouds.

We might get to see some sun over the next few days. Hopefully it won't be warming up and we can enjoy our snow.
