Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 271cm

Posted on Friday 25th January 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning to you all from here in Hakuba.

Some snow numbers left over from yesterday morning since my report (added to my numbers this morning), and there is just a bit of fresh being reported by resorts this morning.

Hakuba Cortina: 5cm

Hakuba Happo-one: 3cm at top of Riesen quad

It is a cold start to the day so conditions this morning should be really good.

It should be snowing again tomorrow and then hopefully we will be getting slammed with some heavy snow arounds tomorrow night. I like the sound of that. But keep it in mind if you are planning a weekend in the mountains. The weekly forecasts seem to be showing a good snowy last week of January.

We're still not half the way through the season. I'm here with you until early May, so that is a lot more reports to write. I need to pace myself!
