Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano Prefecture
New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 0cm
I don't know why, but the last few weeks has gone fairly slowly for me. That has afforded me a few chances to get out and enjoy some pre-season autumn travel. So travel I did, even if I remained within Nagano Prefecture - it's big, and I am only starting to discover southern regions...
At this time of the year when the weather is clear and sunny everywhere seems so beautifiul. It can similarly be quite miserable when it's gloomy and rainy. Temps have been erratic, ranging from mid to high 20s just a few days ago (Wednesday) to being fairly chilly yesterday.
It's just comfortably warm and very pleasant today.
My mind has not clicked into winter-season gear just yet and I don't have much to report or say at this point. I'll gather my thoughts and have more 'news' and stuff as the season gets closer.
Check out the 'snow' currently being made at the base of Goryu (image below). Goryu hopes to have that lower slope open on 21st November.
Anyway, in the meantime as we patiently (or otherwise) wait, may I suggest a few places on this new SnowJapan site to check out. There are just a few personal picks that I have been finding very interesting:
I'll be back again soon.
