Snowfall at base this season 339cm

Posted on Monday 23rd March 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Morning from Hakuba and it's another fine one. It might not last though and we might get some kind of precipitation overnight.

Jigatake and Kashimayari are now also closed for the season.

We are in full-on spring mode now and I can accept that now. Time to fully embrace it. Temps are getting up over 10C in the village in the daytime now and will probably be approaching 15C at times this week.

Snow scare in lower areas but still good cover higher up. O6 weeks to go before planned closing dates of the big four...
