New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 198cm
Posted on Tuesday 20th January 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Ski areas are generally reporting around 5cm of fresh snow on the mountain this morning, with Tsugaike saying up to 10cm.
There's a lot of cloud around, wandering around wondering what to do, but a bit of sunshine too... our heavy snow has not yet started up. We might get more today but our main heavy snow is due to really click in from later tomorrow and it should continue right into next week.
Sounds good, right?
Less great is wind which very well may be affecting some upper lifts this morning. Check before heading out.
