No new snow to report from Hakuba this morning. In the alpine country beyond the ski resorts snowfall was reported to be minimal at around 1cm.

Earlier on this morning there was lots of blue sky above the village but it has since been clouding over and it is much duller now as the morning progresses with less of the sun and more cloud. Visibility still good on the mountain though. Those clouds may well bring us a bit of snow later in the day.

It was cold overnight getting down to -8C, and is now around -3C though we probably won't see temperatures rise into the positive today.

Tomorrow and Saturday are forecast to bring with them milder conditions again with a chance of rain on Saturday, lower down at least. The good news though is that some heavy snowfall is due on Sunday and into early in the week so fingers crossed we get another good dump from that.
