Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 14cm
Snowfall at base this season 394cm

Posted on Friday 1st March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

It's a great start to March with some very nice snowfall numbers being reported by ski areas and a decent layer down to base too.

As you can see on the below list, we're talking 20-30cm on the mountains, with Happo-one reporting 37cm at Usagidaira.

Very nice. And there's going to be more to report tomorrow. Let's keep March going like this, hey?

Currently weather is a mix of cloud, fog, light snow and a bit of blue sky in some places too. It doesn't feel particularly cold, slightly above 0C according to my thermometer.
