Snowfall at base this season 339cm

Posted on Wednesday 1st April 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

A fine "sea of clouds" early today.

There is a lot of cloud around early on today. Thankfully it's not wet this morning but there's some limited visibility in places.

The base Nakiyama run is now closed at Happo-one, so you can no longer ski or board back down to base. Take the gondola!

Tsugaike is also now only part open - see the details below, including the dates of planned operation for the top Ropeway.

I have some personal issues to take care of away from Hakuba today and tomorrow - my next report will be on Friday. By then we should be back to sunny skies.
