Just a quick report today to celebrate the official first day of the 2012/2013 season in Hakuba. Unfortunately, it's raining today but some eager souls have been making their way up on the lifts to get in those first turns of the season.

We are hoping for more snow overnight though and into tomorrow morning so hopefully not too much damage out on the slopes... though it may still be wet down in the village.

Hakuba Goryu, Hakuba 47 and Happo-one plan to be open again today as today.

Going into next week it seems more clearer skies on the forecast and not much snow to expect. We'll have to see what the plans are for the resorts...
