Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 2cm
Snowfall at base this season 514cm

Posted on Thursday 16th March 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

A bit more snow to report this morning - from varying amounts in base areas (none to few cm) in base areas, and up to 10cm being reported by Hakuba Cortina.

Lots of cloud/fog covering lots of the ski slopes this morning and generally a lot of cloud around, though a few patches of blue sky to be seen from village areas - and the sun looks like it's trying to break through too.

Actually forecasts seem to point towards a clear-up today.

Just a bit of light snowfall is scattered around the forecast for the coming week, but there's more sun on that forecast than winter-like conditions. It doesn't look like it should be warming up too much though which is a good thing.
