Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 20cm
Snowfall at base this season 92cm

Posted on Sunday 15th December 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

How much snow do we want? Always more, of course, but for now here's the headlines that we have this morning for snowfall on upper slopes:

Happo-one - 60cm

Hakuba 47 - 40cm

Hakuba Goryu - 40cm

Tsugaike Kogen - added more than 40cm since yesterday

Hakuba Cortina - 30cm

Bottom line... lots and lots of snow falling on mountain.

There's some wind today though which may affect some lifts - the Gondola and a few lifts at Happo were affected just before but are now operating. Visibility is fairly poor out on the mountain this morning with all this snow falling, though not quite as mad as yesterday. The snow may well continue for today and into tomorrow before easing off.

We might even get to see some sun on Tuesday. Looking good for more snow later in the week again though.

It all came at once, but we couldn't really ask for more at the moment.
