Posted on Thursday 14th March 2013 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

After the very warm spring of yesterday, this morning we are back for a short blast of more winter like conditions in Hakuba. A modest dusting of fresh snow in places at village level, and resorts reporting a few cm at base and up to 5cm this morning. Not enough to cover the generally hard and icy conditions under it of course, but hey... it's snow!

Mixed weather conditions this morning so far. Earlier on I saw quite a bit of blue sky behind the bank of clouds up there, but now it has really clouded over with some very poor visibility. A quick look at the Happo and Goryu upper webcams shows that visibility is down to almost nothing, but decent around the gondola at Hakuba 47.

A moderate wind on mountain but resorts seem to be open as scheduled.

Anyway the forecast tell us to expect the clouds to clear up today and expect clear and sunny weather along with warmer temps tomorrow.
