Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 439cm
Posted on Tuesday 14th January 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Golly, it has been a busy morning. There was a bit of a neighbourhood emergency that I had to be involved with. So I'm a bit late this morning. Gomen!
A bank of cloud and a little light snow earlier on. Some blue sky too. Less of the blue sky now and it is due to be snowing before the end of the day.
It feels a bit mild at the moment and I am looking forward to the heavy snow that we are due by tomorrow and through the day tomorrow. Once again, it looks like there is a good chance that Hakuba is going to receive the goods.
Sunshine on Thursday. Should be a good one!
As the auto translated (I presume) Facebook from Tsugaike says this morning: 'Enjoy the tightened barn!'. Well, I'll try!
By the way, I very much recommend checking out the Niseko Now report this morning. My colleague up in Hokkaido has made a few comments and I know exactly where our toast-loving friend is coming from.
Let's be nice.
