New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 220cm
Posted on Sunday 12th January 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Morning from Hakuba on this middle day of the long weekend.
Snowfall on and off yesterday on the mountains and it was snowing when I last looked outside yesterday night. This morning just a few cm of snow being reported by the resorts and nothing much to report here at base either so it didn't seemingly amount to much. Up to 5cm being reported.
It's a cloudy/overcast morning but with some small patches of blue sky and the sun peeking through in places. Perhaps it might clear up as the morning moves on today. It should be snowing by the end of the day though.
There's hardly any wind about at the moment and it has been keeping cold, a low of about -9 overnight, but we might see temps rise just above zero today before that snow comes.
