Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 30cm
Snowfall at base this season 804cm

Posted on Friday 6th March 2020 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Geto.

And it is. (A good one).

A windy day yesterday, the wind affecting the operation of the Number 1 gondola early afternoon.

The resort is reporting 33cm of fresh snowfall since yesterday morning with 20cm of that overnight. That sounds about right. It kind of feels like winter again!

Regarding the tree runs. I have spoken with someone at the resort and they make the final decision about that around 8:30am. So my report is usually too early to cover that. If you are here, you should check with them at the start of your day.

It looks like all but the Extreme tree run course should be open today.
