Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 44cm

Posted on Tuesday 4th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Geto Kogen and apologies for the late start.

Unfortunately, the winter weather has been rather shy this time round too - in all of Japan.

But we have managed to have three days of snow on the ground so far:

- Thursday 22nd November: 19cm

- Friday 23rd November: 10cm

- Saturday 1st December: 15cm

There's not much left on the mountain though with the resort reporting 7cm higher up. You can see how things are looking on the photo below too.

This morning is cloudy. It is another warm spell, but things should be getting more interesting by the end of the week with snow forecast.

Hopefully Geto Kogen might be able to 'get o'-pen soon. (Sorry!)

Fingers crossed.
