Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 22cm
Snowfall at base this season 294cm

Posted on Thursday 27th December 2018 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

5cm for the record from yesterday and 17cm this morning so I am adding 22cm to the report today.

Yesterday during the day it was a mix of snow on and off with some clearer skies from time to time.

This morning it is back to snowy skies and there's some wind as well.

That 20+cm of good quality fresh snow should make for some very conditions good this morning - just get wrapped up well and be prepared for cold and wind.

Continued snowfall is forecast through the weekend.
