Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 16cm
Snowfall at base this season 1105cm

Posted on Thursday 21st February 2019 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Not sure I was expecting this, but 15cm of fresh snow on the ground this morning. We got some light rain during the day from mid-morning but we can perhaps forgive that with some snow to see this morning. As you might expect with the milder temperatures, it isn't top notch mid winter powder... it's a bit heavy, but it's definitely better than rain.

It is snowing now so it will be interesting to see how the day goes.

Fine weather is currently forecast for tomorrow.
