Snowfall at base this season 1336cm
Posted on Friday 20th February 2026 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.
We had several cm of snow yesterday with strong winds affecting the gondola and quad lift operations.
Light snow lingered until just earlier but there's some blue sky now. I am happy to report much less wind, too.
As with much of Japan, spring-like sunshine and warmth is forecast for the weekend. We still have a week of February to go, but right now snow is conspicuous by it's absence on the weekly forecast.
