Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base
9cm
Snowfall at base this season 1030cm

Posted on Thursday 13th February 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Yesterday it was cloudy and/or sunny all day, and the temperature rose to nearly zero.

The temperature rose even more during the night, and (wet) snow began to fall in the morning. The temperature is gradually dropping.

The wind is forecast to get quite strong again today and it looks like it will cause problems for the gondola and lift operations.

The good news is that we should be getting a decent amount of snow.

Scheduled ski area operations:

All courses should be open though there may be some restriction

Lifts may be affected by wind today

Tree run courses open: All apart from Rookie 1, Rookie 2 and Extreme

Official snow depth (reported by the ski area):

390cm (top)

290cm (base)

Cumulative snowfall this season (reported by the ski area):

1822cm

Other information:

Night skiing is scheduled for weekends and holidays through 24th February 2025.

The Number 2 Gondola is scheduled to normally only operate on weekends and holidays.
