Independent snow and weather reporting from the Geto Kogen region of Iwate

New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 793cm

Posted on Sunday 11th February 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Geto Kogen Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Geto Kogen.

6cm of fresh snow around base this morning and the ski area is reporting 10cm on the mountain. It has all come from overnight.

This morning it is still snowing (very) lightly and there's not much wind. So there is some fresh snow out there too discover, if not as much as we'd have liked.

It's quite cold this morning but looking ahead, Tuesday through Thursday this coming week looks like it is going to be very warm (and not just in this region but the whole of Japan). We can only hope temps don't rise too much but should expect high temps of around 5C or 6C in the daytime.

Lifts operating (planned):

All scheduled lifts operating.

Runs open (planned):

Most of the main runs should be open with some restrictions.

Scheduled to open tree runs: All should be open apart from Extreme and Cascade.

All subject to change due to conditions.

Official snow depth (reported by the ski area):

260cm (top)

195cm (base)
